Stress Causes Hair Loss

Your hair goes through three phases. It is either growing, resting, or falling out.

At any one time, 90 percent of your hair is in the growing phase. Most of the remaining hair is in the resting phase, where it remains for about three months. When people suffer physical or psychological trauma, or stress, it shocks the hair follicles into a resting phase. The hair stays in the resting phase for 3 months and then starts falling out.
